Niantic Unveils Pokémon Go's New Season: Dual Destinies

11/27/2024
Niantic has recently made a significant announcement regarding Pokémon Go. The new season, titled "Dual Destinies," has sparked quite a buzz among fans. The branding seems to pay homage to Pokémon Black and White, emphasizing the theme of balance and opposing forces. The official teaser page even adopts a black and white color scheme, adding to the excitement.

Promotion and Tour Details

This new season is mainly a promotional event for the upcoming Pokémon Go Unova Tour in Los Angeles, California, and Taipei, Taiwan. It's an opportunity for players to get up close and personal with some of their favorite Pokémon. Zekrom and Reshiram might make an appearance during raids, but the real star of the season is Sinistea. With few Galar Pokémon currently available in Pokémon Go, Sinistea taking center stage is a big deal. A new set of special research will kick off on Dec. 3, 2024, and while the rewards at the end remain a mystery, it's likely to be Sinistea-shaped.

Pokémon in Eggs

In Pokémon Go Dual Destinies, players will have a chance to find shiny Basculin of the Blue and Red variety in Eggs. The location of hatching determines which one they get. If you're in the eastern hemisphere, you'll obtain Red Basculin, while in the western hemisphere, it's Blue Basculin. Another notable aspect is that during this season, you can get Charcadet from 10km eggs.

Shadow Raids and Gigantimax Pokémon

The Regi-family of Pokémon receive the shadow treatment in five-star Shadow Raids. Regice, Registeel, and Regirock are included, but not Regigigas. These shadow Pokémon may also be shiny. Additionally, a new batch of Gigantimax Pokémon can be encountered during Max Battles. This season, it's Krabby, Machop, and Lapras.

The Pokémon Go Dual Destinies season begins on Dec. 3, 2024, and will run through March 4, 2025. It's an exciting time for Pokémon Go players as they embark on this new adventure filled with new Pokémon encounters and challenges.

With the introduction of Sinistea as the centerpiece and the various Pokémon events and raids, this season promises to be a memorable one for Pokémon Go enthusiasts. Whether it's finding shiny Basculin or battling shadow Regi Pokémon, there's a lot to look forward to.
